A really nice keeb to use on the go.
But it really could use some improvements, most notaby a cover for the controller.

Very pleased in every way ! Glad this odd one exists !
A bit too many thumb keys to my taste, but choc-spacing keeps it as compact as my previous 34key ferris sweep !
Layout nicely improved, the thumb key orientation full north for the 2 outside is well aligned with the thumb in fact.
The choc-spacing mean the full rev57 exactly matches the footprint of a non-choc ferris sweep (34 keys).
It is possible to fit a battery connector instead of soldering directly the cables, although with some work on the top plate and the key cap in the way (chopped slightly a corner, is ok)… and the JST connector to mutilate.

    Good to know:
    – the top, intermediate & bottom plate mean the keyboard has some weight. I added foam under so it can lay flat on a laptop keyboard and still not move (prefer that to the silicone bumps to stick).
    – diodes soldering needs to be clean enough to fit in the choc hole for lighting, had to re-melt a lot of solder once discovered.
    – no screw heads under ! Threaded inserts in the bottom plate give a flush bottom !
    – controller is still lower than key caps, I might foam it but protection do not feel necessary to me.
    – firmware: find someone with the zmk-config repo for rev57, clone, edit with nickcoutsos.github.io/keymap-editor/, github actions build the firmware, download, then drag’n drop into nice nano.

    Context:
Programmer, had a ZSA Planck, then built splitkb kyria, then sweep kits. I use my keyboards one at a time for day job and more 8+h/d (numrow nice for gaming).

    Service:
Had a postal glitch, first parcel lost but very friendly communication with 42keebs, and problem solved quickly.

I think this is my endgame…
