Corne Cherry Hotswap Split Ergo 40% Keyboard Kit

This is version V3.3 modified by 42. Keebs to include a power switch and battery connector for wireless operation and native nice!view support.

Build your very own custom split keyboard from scratch!

• Split 12×3 + 6 (42 keys) 40% ortho/ergo layout
• Supports Cherry MX-compatible switches
• Uses Kailh/Gateron MX hotswap sockets
• Supports in-switch RGB LEDs and RGB underglow (RGB LEDs available as an add-on)
• Optional OLED screens
• Includes a sliding SMD power switch and contacts for a battery on the PCB (no connector needed, battery to be soldered directly to the PCB for simplicity)
  
• V3.2 PCBs support the 5-column (36-key) layout again (by snapping off the 6th column)
  
• V3.3 PCBs support the power-efficient nice!view screens natively
• Fairly easy to build – based on Pro Micro controllers, but uses SMD diodes
• Tinned lead-free finish, black solder mask

Please note, the V3.3 PCBs are incorrectly marked as V3.2. You can identify them by the 5-pin nice!view footprint right below the 4-pin OLED footprint.

Please note, the RGB pin had to be changed to pin 14 (B2 / GPIO23) due to nice!view support. RGB is not supported when using the nice!nano, and custom Vial firmware is required for RGB support using the Frood (available soon from our firmware page).

Note: kits with original (unmodified) V3.0.1 PCBs are available at a discount. These don’t include the power switch or battery contacts on the PCB and only support 6-column layout.

  • 2x bottom plate made from PCB material (FR4)
  • 2x clear acrylic covers
• FR4 + acrylic version:
  • 2x FR4 switch plate
  • Optional 3 mm switch plate foam
  • Optional 2/3 mm foam/3 mm acrylic mid-layer
  • 2x 3 mm acrylic (optionally tenting) bottom plate
  • 2x acrylic covers (in a matching colour + clear ones in case of dark/opaque acrylic)
• Acrylic version:
  • 2x 3 mm acrylic switch plate
  • Optional 2 mm switch plate foam
  • Optional 2/3 mm foam/3 mm acrylic mid-layer
  • 2x 3 mm acrylic bottom plate
  • 2x acrylic covers (in a matching colour + clear ones in case of dark/opaque acrylic)
  • 16x acrylic tenting spacers (tenting version only)

• 2x Pro Micro compatible controllers (Frood, nice!nano etc.)
