Plaid-C 40% Ortho Through-Hole Keyboard Kit

Designed by Takuya Urakawa (hsgw), modified by 42. Keebs to use USB-C connector instead of Mini USB and added a FR4 switch plate

The designer declined my offer to receive a portion of the proceeds from every sale. A regular monthly donation to the QMK Foundation of $20 has been set up instead.

Build your very own custom ortho keyboard from scratch!

  • Planck-like ortholinear 12×4 layout
  • Supports full grid and “MIT” (1x 2u) layouts (2x 2u not supported)
  • Supports both Cherry MX and Kailh Choc V1 switches
  • FR4 switch plate now included
  • Support for 0.91″ 128×32 pixel OLED screen (instead of indicator LEDs)
  • Easy to solder, uses only through-hole components (no SMD)
  • The only slightly tricky part to solder is the USB-C connector. If you feel a bit unsure, I can solder it for you for a small extra
  • Lead-free tinned finish, black solder mask
