Plaid Pro 40% Hotswap Ortho Through-Hole Keyboard Kit

Based on the original design by Takuya Urakawa (hsgw) and modified by 42. Keebs to use hotswap sockets, USB-C, and added a FR4 switch plate

The designer declined my offer to receive a portion of the proceeds from every sale. A regular monthly donation to the QMK Foundation of $20 has been set up instead.

Build your very own custom ortho keyboard from scratch!

  • Planck-like ortholinear 12×4 layout
  • Supports full grid and “MIT” (1x 2u) layouts (2x 2u layout not supported)
  • Uses Kailh MX hotswap sockets (Kailh Choc switches NOT supported)
  • Includes a FR4 switch plate
  • Supports one optional EC11 rotary encoder in either bottom left or bottom right switch position
  • Easy to solder, uses only through-hole components (no SMD)
  • The only slightly tricky part to solder is the USB-C connector. If you feel a bit unsure, we can solder it for you for a small extra
  • Lead-free tinned finish, black solder mask
